SNAP Solutions – Sedona

Locally preparing to feed those affected by the significant reduction in SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits.

Cornucopia recently conducted a 2018 Yavapai County Food Assistance Survey to identify all 65 food assistance programs in the county, describe their current services, and ascertain their needs for expanding their service capacity to address the SNAP crisis.

Ideas to expand capacity building has been discussed at length and action steps have been agreed upon by the majority of Sedona’s Emergency Food Providers and Cornucopia Community Advocates. These ideas include, but are not limited to:

There are quarterly follow-up meetings planned to ensure the action items we’ve established are carried out and new ideas are discussed.

The meeting with the Emergency Food Providers in Sedona was a great success and proof of the commitment and involvement of the community to help our food-insecure residents!

Thank you to all involved!
